What our reviews are
Our articles are editorial opinion, formed from hands-on use, teardown analysis, published specifications, supplier and manufacturing data, and patent filings. They are our honest assessment at the time of writing. They are not laboratory certification, and we do not claim the reproducibility of an accredited test house.
Where we state a manufacturing cost, a markup, or a component origin, we describe the basis for that figure in the article itself. Where a figure is an estimate, we say so.
Prices and specifications
Prices are correct at the time of publication and change frequently. Manufacturers revise specifications, and units sold under one model name are not always identical between production runs or between markets. Verify the current price and specification with the retailer before purchasing.
Individual results vary
Hair varies enormously in density, porosity, texture, length and chemical history. A tool that performs well on one head may perform poorly on another. Our recommendations describe general suitability and cannot account for your specific hair or scalp.
Safety
Heat styling tools reach temperatures capable of causing burns to skin and permanent damage to hair. Electrical appliances used near water carry risk of electric shock.
