This policy explains what data Frizz & Receipts collects when you visit this website, why it is collected, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who is responsible
The controller responsible for data processing on this site is the operator of frizzandreceipts.com. Name, postal address and contact address for data protection enquiries are published on this site and are available on request.
2. Server log files
The hosting provider automatically records data that your browser transmits whenever you open a page. This includes the page requested, the date and time of the request, the volume of data transferred, your browser type and version, your operating system, the referring URL, and your IP address.
This data is not merged with other sources and is not used to identify you personally. It is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — namely the secure, stable and correct operation of the site. Log data is retained only for as long as is necessary for those purposes, and is then deleted.
3. Hosting
This site is hosted by a third-party provider, which processes the data described in section 2 on our behalf and on our instructions, under a data processing agreement concluded in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The provider’s identity is available on request.
4. Comments
If you leave a comment, the comment text, the name and email address you enter, and your IP address are stored. The email address is not published. Comment data is stored so that follow-up replies can be recognised and displayed, and so that moderation decisions remain traceable. The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time by asking us to delete the comment.
5. Analytics
This site runs no analytics or tracking software. We do not measure individual visitor behaviour and we do not build visitor profiles. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any such software is switched on.
6. Embedded YouTube videos
Articles on this site embed videos hosted by YouTube, a service operated by Google Ireland Limited. When you load a page containing an embedded video, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which tells Google which page you visited. If you are signed in to a Google account at the time, that visit can be linked to your account.
Google may transfer this data to servers outside the European Economic Area. Google’s own privacy policy governs that processing and is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Affiliate links
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links to major online retailers. When you click one, the retailer or affiliate network typically sets a cookie recording that the visit originated here, so that any resulting purchase can be attributed. This processing is carried out by the retailer or network, not by us, and is governed by their own privacy policies. We receive only aggregate commission reporting — never your name, address or payment details.
See the Affiliate Disclosure for how this affects our editorial work.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- request confirmation of whether your data is being processed, and obtain a copy of it (Art. 15);
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16);
- have your data erased (Art. 17);
- have processing restricted (Art. 18);
- receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format (Art. 20);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21);
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the member state of your residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
9. Cookies
Cookies are covered separately in the Cookie Policy.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the services this site uses or in the applicable law. The date at the top records the current version.
